The Arc of Placer County, Studio 700 - Center for the Arts
Founded in the early 1960s, our art studio has a long and proud history of supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through the power of creative expression. At the heart of our program is the belief that art is more than a product—it’s a process for learning, growing, and finding one’s place in the world. Our studio is a vibrant, inclusive space where our clients are celebrated as working artists. Here, they are given the tools, training, and support to develop their artistic voices while also building essential life skills. Through daily studio practice, artists strengthen fine motor coordination, follow directions, manage their time, and engage meaningfully with peers, staff, and the broader community. Each piece of art created in our studio is a testament to persistence, expression, and joy. Whether working in paint, collage, clay, or mixed media, our artists bring a unique perspective that challenges assumptions and invites deeper understanding. We are proud to serve as a bridge between our artists and the public—through exhibitions, community partnerships, and sales—ensuring their work is seen, valued, and respected. This is more than an art program; it is a dynamic platform for visibility, growth, and inclusion.
