The Placer Artists Tour Flagship Fundraising Event
A Spin on Art Dinner & Auction
April 9, 2026

This unique dinner and auction will showcase the imaginative creations of 60 artists who have accepted the challenge to step “outside the box” by reimagining vinyl LP records and their jackets into original, music-inspired works of art.
The event will feature an online preview, followed by an engaging evening of silent and live auctions, bringing together collectors, community members, and arts supporters for a memorable night celebrating creativity and connection.
Thursday, April 9, 2026 • 6–9 pm • Gala Dinner & Live Auction (Ticketed event) All selected artwork will be featured online (link to come) and publicized in a printed catalog. Please note: you must attend the Live Auction to bid on Live Auction artwork.
Wednesday, April 8 Preview Exhibition (free): 10 am–5 pm • Special Artist Reception (free) 5–8 pm — enjoy hors d’oeuvres and beverages while meeting the artists. All may bid on Silent Auction items.
Jurors for the show are:
- Jenny Darlington-Person is the Executive Director of the Arts Council of Placer County and a development consultant for InConcert Sierra.
- Deanna Marsh, Principal and Artist at Sculptures Interpreting the Natural Forces of Change, Glass and Metal Art Sculpture Installations.
- Radio Personality, to be announced.

2026 Outside the Box Sponsorship Opportunities
To make Outside the Box: Reimagined a success, we are seeking sponsors to help us reach our $75,000 fundraising goal. Your support directly sustains the Placer Artists Tour, strengthens our Endowment Fund, and ensures continued access to the arts throughout Placer County.
Sponsors receive year-round recognition and exposure, including visibility at this event and during the Placer Artists Tour (November 6–8 and 13–15, 2026). In 2025, the Tour welcomed over 5,000 visitors, featured 126 artists, galleries and schools and spanned 78 locations throughout Placer County.

Thank you to the 66 creative and resourceful artists who submitted the following artworks for this Flagship Fundraiser event. This was a fun and creative way to promote the importance of sustainability and at the same time, promote the positive economic impact of the arts in our community. In a blind jury process, Juror William Ishmael selected 20 of the entries to be auctioned off LIVE on May 14. 44 of the pieces were auction in an online Silent Auction.
