About

From a young age, inspired by her mother, a fellow artist, Susan knew she wanted to pursue art, beginning her journey as a young child. Susan is both a sculpture and painter. Her oil and acrylic paintings are impressionistic influenced by her spiritual journey, her wonder of nature, and the human soul’s ability to change, soar, love, and explore.

Susan’s first spiritual paintings were created when her husband was suffering from an end-stage illness. She wanted to keep a positive outlook and change her soul’s character. She started working with a spiritual teacher who challenged her to journal about the character traits that were important to her. Life is art and art is life, thus spirit animals became her artistic focus. Paintings of giraffes represented curiosity, hummingbirds represented joy and luck, and dogs represented loyalty and so on! Spirit animals are wished to inspire positiveness and hope in life’s challenging times.

The animals that Susan paints are playfully and joyfully painted with colorful paint that is expressively applied with drips, splatters and linear elements.

Susan creates works of art in several mediums, oil painting, acrylic painting, mixed medium painting, bronze sculpture, fabricated ferrous metal sculpture, and her recent sculpture in recycled materials.
