About

Art is my passion. I use any medium available to create my vision. I tell stories, sometimes mine or sometimes yours. Often I use my camera or computer to create a well designed composition. My inspiration is life itself. The more I do, the more I see and the more I want to do. My mother once told me I was a very difficult child to punish, I always found ways to create and entertain myself.

My art has evolved. You might say I’m an “Art Techie”, I’ve experimented with all the 2D mediums. The process intrigues me. My journey started by painting in oils, then I picked up the camera to photograph my subjects. That became my primary art tool. In the meanwhile, I was experimenting with Etchings and Cyanotypes. Mixed Media soon became natural for me, I love to combine the mediums, the old with the new. Even computer art, the new.

For a long time I enjoyed working with Encaustic to combine my art. Charlotte Cooper, my art partner, and I taught Encaustic as a team. My latest journey takes me to Cyanotype, “Sun Paintings”, using Wet Cyanotype with ink or colored pastel pencils. Cyanotype was used in the 1800s by Engineers for their drawings, soon after artist started using the chemical to create art.

Charlotte, and I recently inherited a large, 24” x 48”, Printing Press. My new goal is to create Monotypes or Monoprints by reinventing some of my old etching plates. For the Studio Tour, I will concentration on Cyanotype (Wet and Dry), Monoprints and Encaustic.
