Karen Burns

Karen Burns is a representational painter whose subjects are often ordinary objects, and has a particular affinity for showcasing vintage pieces that have been worn by time. She began in the art world as a photographer before switching to painting; photography honed her skills in creating compositions, but found that painting allowed her to further explore color and texture. She has exhibited in national and international juried exhibitions, including the American Artists Professional League, National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society, Oil Painters of America, American Women Artists, the International Guild of Realism, as well as local shows in California. She lives and works in Granite Bay.
