Jewelry, beads, buttons and things to wear; Rebecca has always enjoyed adorning herself and others with unique and colorful bits of art. About 20 years ago she settled on polymer clay as her medium. “Conditioning the clay, that is, squishing it repeatedly until it’s ready to be used, is very therapeutic for me. The colors provide opportunities to experiment with so many combinations. It’s just fun,” she explains.

Martinez holds a degree in Art from Mills College and her work experience includes publication, graphic and web design and technical support. Her work is currently available year-round at Persimmon Art Gallery in Auburn. Her hobbies include sewing, kayaking, swimming and gardening.
