Imi Lehmbrock-Hirschinger
My longtime interest in abstract color compositions help me take note of the quiltlike patterns of aerial landscapes, especially in the Sacramento Valley with its vast expansion of fields, rivers and water channels seen from the air.
Large circle fields created by irrigation systems along the Columbia River and in the Mid-West attracted my attention as well. Aerial landscapes have been the main theme of my work for many years, and led me to create my noted Colorfield Series.
