I do eco printing on textiles, creating originally designed garments, scarves, wall hangings, bags and purses, and home accessories. I also modify and embellish upcycled garments such as cashmere sweaters and silk blouses, using eco printed textiles as well as ethnic and unusual textiles. Each piece I create is a unique, one of a kind, wearable piece of art. I love eco dyeing. It is a process where botanicals are coaxed to release their natural dyes onto fabrics which results in beautiful leaf prints. Each piece I dye is an amazing journey. From the beginning when the fresh leaves are laid on the textiles to the end when the piece is opened and viewed, I find it magical (how can a green leaf leave an orange print?), amazing (the results are unpredictable, like Nature), and breath-takingly beautiful. The final results always feel like a gift. Eco dyeing allows me to connect with nature. I hope that in sharing my creations with others, they too will be inspired and in awe of the incredible prints the leaves give to us and be reminded of the beauty of Nature that surrounds us.
