Marsha Toms
As a fused glass artist I want to create works of art that showcase the magical qualities of glass and beg to be held up to the light.
I enjoy taking fused glass classes from a variety of instructors and taking what I learn and putting my own spin on it. My glass pieces start out as sheets of glass which are cut and layered to the desired design and I add accessory glass as desired. The glass is then melted together in a kiln at around 1450 degrees. Some of my pieces are fired in the kiln 4 or 5 times to get the desired effect. Many of my pieces are then “slumped” in the kiln to give them unique shapes. Many pieces also include one-of-a-kind stands I create.
I truly hope you enjoy seeing my creations as much as I enjoy creating them.
