Fabricating jewelry became my first passion as an artist. Adorning others with beautiful pieces brought me great joy. I spent my working career as a designer and creator of hand-carved waxes that were used to produce one-of-a-kind pieces, utilizing the ancient art of lost wax casting.
Always wanting to do art on a larger scale, I moved toward the canvas and discovered a profound love for creating work using a multitude of mediums and found objects. My approach to mixed media involves constant exploration and experimentation with different techniques, textures and materials. Using a putty knife and brush, I move the paint until I reach a desired intuitive result.
My pieces are often characterized by a sense of texture and depth with layers of materials and elements that invite the viewer to engage with the work on multiple levels. I enjoy presenting a sense of visual complexity and depth that reflects the complexity of our world. My hope is that my work inspires people to look at the world around them in a new way and to appreciate the beauty and stories that can be found in the most unexpected places, and even that which was previously discarded.
