About

Patty Pieropan Dong lives in rural Auburn and enjoys working in a variety of media: oil, acrylic, watercolor and block printing. Her subjects include California landscapes, still life and travel impressions.

A graduate of Boston University with a BFA in Painting, she has also studied at Boston State College and Suffolk University. Painting trips to Mexico, Italy, Portugal, and France have provided rich visual imagery for plein air painting. You will also find disappearing relics are a recurring theme throughout much of her work: capturing abandoned buildings and cars, as nature takes them over. “I like the theme of something that was once part of our lives and is now forgotten.”

A member of The Auburn Old Town Gallery of Fine Art, Patty also participates in open
studio events: the Salmon Creek Art Walk, the North Auburn Artists Tour and the
Placer Artists Tour. She has past been recognized as Placer County Visual Artist of the Year and was voted “Best of the Best” in Gold Country Media. Patty has also won awards in numerous juried exhibitions and has had several solo shows.

When not in her studio creating commissioned work or painting on location, Patty shares her passion with others. You can find her in the summer teaching kids at her home studio or year-round volunteering as an instructor for the Auburn Seniors Center. She has experience teaching all age levels and is available for private lessons.
