Laurel Mathe

From the rivers to the canyons, growing up in the Sierra Foothills has instilled a deep love for our local wilderness. This passion for the natural world has fueled my art for over 35 years and is expressed through linocut, printmaking, scratchboard, pen and ink, and digital artistry. The heart of my studio is my cherished and historical 1914 Chandler & Price letterpress. The letterpress can imbue each print with a tactile depth hard to capture in other mediums. Through my work, I hope to inspire a sense of wonder and appreciation of our local treasures that often go unseen.
