I am a metalsmith, enamel jewelry artist, and instructor currently working out of Penryn, California. Purposefully transforming metal and glass into story telling through hammer and flame is what I call the “essence of jewelry” and it’s that essence that I believe distinguishes handmade jewelry from machine made. Story telling is one of my main inspirations. For me, it’s all about sharing a small part of ourselves and connecting with others. “What you touch you change” is one of my favorite quotes, as I feel everything we come into contact with is transformed because of us, making our actions crucially important. My jewelry making techniques include forging, forming, texturing, soldering, cold-connections, enameling, saw piercing, enameling, and etching. I work primarily with ethically-sourced, repurposed pure and sterling silver and occasionally use 14k gold-fill and/or copper. All metal fabrication is done by me.
