Where does my art come from? A collection of memories and experiences, an attraction to certain colors and textures, an old piece of rusted metal or plant form. I start with a splash of paint or collage material and have a great adventure seeing where it takes me, applying my medium, removing it, layers of paint, paper, wood, wax, ink, bones string … whatever feels right. Sometimes I use several materials in one creation. I use acrylics, printmaking, encaustics and cold wax.
My art has evolved from years of studying with inspirational teachers at Chouinard Art Institute in L.A., several northern California colleges, and workshops around the country. My work is in collections throughout the U.S. and also in Finland, India and France.
